Dr. Padmavathy Nataraj is board certified in General Adult Psychiatry by the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology. She completed her first three years of residency training at Bronx Lebanon Hospital in New York, which is affiliated with Albert Einstein College of Medicine in New York. She completed her fourth year of residency at Morehouse School of Medicine in Atlanta, Georgia. She has also received extensive training in intensive psychoanalytic psychotherapy from William Alanson White Institute in New York. Before starting her own practice, Dr. Nataraj worked for Alabama Psychiatric Services, Birmingham, AL providing mental health services for adults and geriatric patients.

Dr. Nataraj completed her Medical school at Sri Devaraj Urs Medical College in India where she received a degree in the field of General Medicine. Dr. Nataraj practiced medicine for 2 years in India before coming to the United States.

Her special interests include mood disorders, anxiety disorders including Obsessive Compulsive disorder, psychosis, interpersonal psychotherapy, psychodynamic therapy, cognitive behavioral therapy and supportive psychotherapy, Schizophrenia and other psychotic disorders. Her goal is to advocate and guide her patients to choose right treatment for their symptoms and to promote both physical and mental health.

Dr. Nataraj is multilingual, speaking several Indian dialects including Hindi, Telugu, Tamil and Kannada.
